Sometimes we get into the rut of making the people around us happy that we totally forget about ourselves. Putting others first all the time may sound like an act of kindness, but neglecting your selfcare can affect the love you give others as well. Overtime that takes a toll on you, and it’s ok to not be able to please every single person! It’s extremely important to invest time on yourself and work on your happiness.
I’ve learned to invest time on myself that helps improve my self worth. I am a big advocate of creating a visually pleasing vision board and having great art and quotes around you that create affirmations that you can reach your full potential. I’ve included FREE downloadable prints that you can incorporate in your everyday life!
Its ok to say NO
This can take a while to conquer, sometimes saying something as simple as “no” can be difficult. The reality is that you’ve got to know your limits and be comfortable with rejection towards other people. There’s no reason to over explain or have an excuse. A simple “no” should be enough. If you’ve had a long day at work and someone wants you to go out with them after learning to accept your self confidence by kindly letting them know that “no, thank you” It’s all about you babe, take care of yourself first, that power is in your hands.
Take time to be by yourself
Sometimes our life can get out of balance or feel a little overwhelming. Make sure to take care of your mental health first and spend some time working on yourself. This can be anything from taking a break from your daily routine, a pamper day all to yourself, going to the beach to admire and think, or volunteer in your community . This is extremely important and a day to yourself helps clear your mind up and relax.
Ask for help
There are always a million things on our mind and that can get overwhelming and very stressful. Its ok to ask for help to take some pressure off your shoulders, Having a good support system is key for a healthy lifestyle, having that set of people that you can confide in when you need them the most and they can rely on you as well.
Make a list of your priorities
The key to tackling all your to-do list is to set realistic goals and take on the ones that are the most important first. Its a lot less stressful when you sit down make a list of just a few things to do that day and crossing them off one by one is super satisfying. Sometimes if you focus on the small stuff instead of the big picture it can feel more satisfying. If you are forgetful like me put reminders on your phone!
