BEACH DAY
Hey babe summer is approaching. You’ll blink and it will be here! I see lots of beach days in your near future. Nothing is better than a fun and relaxing day at the beach. Sit down and enjoy a refreshing drink while the sound of splashing waves serenades you. It can be a downer if you show up unprepared. Let me help you pack your beach bag essentials for the best beach day ever!
Beach Bag Essentials:
sunscreen
This is a Beach bag MUST, especially for me, because girl I burn easily!! I have tried many sunscreens but this is what works for me: 50 spf plus with reapplication every hour the lotion version ,not spray, those just don’t seem like they lather thick enough. My favorite is SunBum’s original 70 spf lotion sunscreen. Now for my face I use a few different ones, but I try to stay away from anything too oily. For face sunscreen I recommend applying every 30 min or maybe that’s just me because if I don’t I am a guaranteed red lobster. I’ll tag a few below of what I recommend.
Beach towel
I am a sucker for an aesthetically pleasing beach towel. Plus it’s just important to have and one of our main essentials to bring so why not? Make sure it is a BEACH towel. If not you’ll have a thick bath towel that will not dry and you’ll be carrying a heavy wet towel on your way back. My absolute favorite places to get mine are TJMAXX and Marshals! Target sometimes carries some good ones as well.
sunglasses
Okay, I might get some hate on this one, but girl please get yourself some POLARIZED sunglasses. We all love those cute cheap sunglasses, but in reality they don’t do a damn thing for you. Trust me it will change your life! When you hit 40 you’ll thank me. Just spend that extra money on some cute POLARIZED sunglasses. You will 100% see clear in the blinding sun glare too. Listen, Ray Ban has some of my favorite classic designs but also beware that not all of their sunglasses are polarized so choose carefully. I recommend hitting up Costco as they carry polarized brand name sunglasses at a fraction of the cost.
Beach bag Hair essentials:
Hair Clip
When I go to the beach I can never decide if I want my hair up or down so I always carry a hair clip. Plus it’s easy and always useful. On windy beach days I use it to clip my beach towel securely to my beach chair so I’m not chasing it down the hot sand.
Hairbrush
Your hair will get tangly in the salt water so this is just a must.
Water bottle
I’m sure you’ll bring a cooler with some refreshments, but if not definitely bring a water bottle to keep yourself hydrated. Put some ice in it!
Hat
I burn easily but I have never had a sunburn on my scalp like when I went to Florida beaches. The sun is a real menace out here! I always suggest bringing a cute hat for some extra shade.
Beach bag
We need something to carry all these things right? My go-to is a pretty tote! A Beach bag that fits everything comfortably. There are so many to choose from that they are practically addicting. Plus you can also use totes for your shopping. Anyway, I recommend something that is canvas or breathable but that will not leave you chasing a trail of stuff as they drop. Get a few. I guarantee you’ll be using them all year long.
