Visiting the windy city for the day? Or the weekend? There are so many things to do ! Depending on what you like there are things to do for any taste. The city of Chicago takes a special place in my heart I’ve visited many times and even got engaged there! It’s impossible to do it all, but I came up with a list of just some of my top places to visit. In this blog post I will focus on places you can enjoy a good atmosphere with delicious food of course!
Places to Grab a Bite
The Purple Pig
Located right on Michigan ave this is a great place to stop and grab a delicious meal after your shopping spree. It has a great city atmosphere each plate is unique and totally worth it! I would recommend ordering a few plates and sharing it with your table. They also have great drinks to pair along with your food.
3 Arts Club Café
This is a very beautiful place located in the Gold coast, make sure you get there with enough time there is usually always a wait time, but its worth it! While you wait you can lounge around, sit at the bar, or go upstairs through RH Home goods gallery. Its a great dinning experience as this is a great stop to catch up with friends!
Wildberry Pancakes & Cafe
If you are near Millennium park in the morning this is your place! The breakfast here is delicious and service is fast, but the waiting time is the opposite. I would recommend ordering a coffee while you wait for your meal to be ready. They severe any kind of breakfast you can think of, but you can really never go wrong with breakfast at this place!
Green Street Smoked Meats
OMG! This is a must got to for sure the food is mouth watering! They specialize in cooked meats and sides which is exactly what their name portrays. Usually you order your food and then sit any where you’d like, they have an amazing chill atmosphere and a bar. I would recommend ordering a little bit of everything you’d like to try and share with the table. The food is super delicious and quite addicting!
Bombobar
This Place is mostly known for their amazing desserts which includes delicious donuts with toppings, shakes topped with crazy toppings, gelato, & coffee. The treats here are definitely Instagram worthy! I would visit this place after Green Streets Meats to grab some dessert.
MingHin Cuisine
Have you ever tried Dim Sum? Dim Sum is when you order a large amount of small dishes and share (or maybe not) with the table. This unique restaurant is located in Chinatown and it offers tons of tasty dishes to give a try. I would recommend checking out the immense menu before going so you can get an idea of what you’d like to order and then walk off your meal exploring Chinatown!
Taqueria Los Comales
This is the place to go after a good long nigh tout. The tacos taste magical after a night at the bar. There are tons of Mexican spots but they seem to always be open when you need them.
Billy Goat Tavern
This place is a Chicago classic and basically a landmark, this place has been in the city for centuries. Its a fun location to hang out , but the biggest thing they are known for is their burgers! They cook their burgers to perfection and are known for their thin but tasty patties. Don’t miss this place out!
Portillo’s
This is definitely one of the more touristy places to eat, but it is worth going. They offer many different types of foods, a great place that offers something for everyone. Do not leave without trying the Chicago hot dog with a side of cheesy fries!
