Wondering what to bring along on your flight?
After many flights I came up with the ultimate list of essentials that I bring along every time. These are just some of the items that really come in handy either at the airport or on the plane! After you board so many planes you create a mental list of your must haves. I hope this list helps you plan towards you next adventure!
Tote
Most flights let you bring a personal item with, I recommend bringing a tote or a backpack something that is easy to carry not to big and can fit a good amount of items. If you are on a short flight less than 1hr you probably will be ok with just a purse, but even so I would still recommend a bit bigger bag somewhere you can stuff in some snacks, a book, and maybe a blanket or a small pillow. Most planes will serve you small snacks and drinks but bringing along some of of your favorite snacks is the was to go and always check if that certain snack is ok to tag along and allowed by security!!
Portable Charger
As a frequent flyer i tend liking to stay away from long layaways at the airports as it can be tedious. One can only walk around the airport so many times, at the end you end up on your phone most of the time. For this i recommend bringing a portable charger sometimes the plugs at the airport might be hard to get. My phone needs to be charged at all times especially since I love having my boarding pass on my phone (highly recommend saves a lot of time.) Having a portable charger when traveling is always a good idea!
Blanket
I take a cozy small blanket in all my flights, usually planes tend to be a bit on the colder side and your mate in the seat next to you could be blasting their cold air. A blanket also doubles as a pillow when folded, this is helpful if you’re in the window seat as you can just use it to lean onto the plane comfortably! As far as the size it should be a small size that could easily fit in a tote.
Wireless Headphones
This has been a total life saver! Most people download some sort of movie or show to watch on the flight, which makes the flight seem to go faster. Bringing along some headphones is the best but especially noise canceling ones, planes are quite noisy and if you just need a snooze these headphones cancel out the crying baby on board. I personally recommend the wireless Sony canceling headphones (pictured below) that I stole from my lovely husband, they are easy to travel with and the battery lasts for days!! The canceling feature is incredible but the sound is amazing as well!
Features
- Up to 30hrs of charge
- Noise Cancelling
- Foldable
- Touchpad
- Voice Assistant
Reading Piece
You never know what might happen in your travels so bringing a form of entertainment that doesn’t require a charger this is essential (especially if you have kids). A book, magazine, even a crossword book. Sometimes that can occupy your time that is not your phone or your laptop.
Empty Water Bottle
As part of the flying requirements you’re not allowed to bring in liquids more than 1oz through security. Sometimes the pricing for a water can be insane at the airport or depending what time and where you fly the little stores might be closed. For this bring an empty water bottle and fill it up once you pass the security check point, most airports are equipped with water bottle refill stations!
Jewelry Organizer
This one is a bit more optional but it definitely makes life easier giving your jewelry an adequate place to go. This helps your necklaces and bracelets stay untangled saving you that battle! most of these little compartments also come with a place to place your rings securely and loose earrings. They are usually small and compact so they wont take too much space in your carry on or luggage.
Check out Target they carry some great options! (that’s where I got mine)
Durable Suitcase Case
Investing in a good durable luggage set is a must! The luggage you take along goes on for a long ride as well it is going to get thrown, hit, and scraped. From experience a hard case luggage set is ideal its super resistible and usually weather proof! If you are wondering what size luggage to get you usually just need 2 types 1. a carry on which is usually a 20″ suit case that you are allowed to bring along in most airlines without a fee 2. and a bigger bag to check in for longer trips that is either a 24″ or 28″, you don’t need both unless you pack a lot when traveling usually 28″ can fit quite a bit. My favorite place to shop for affordable but trendy sets is TJ Maxx!
