A New York Christmas! With its iconic holiday decorations and festive atmosphere, New York City is undoubtedly one of the best places to be during the holiday season. From ice skating at Rockefeller Center to admiring the elaborate window displays on Fifth Avenue, there is no shortage of activities to get you in the holiday spirit. Last year, I had the opportunity to experience the magic of a New York Christmas. The city was buzzing with holiday spirit and I had a blast exploring all the festive activities and decorations. One of the highlights was finally getting to see the iconic Rockefeller Christmas tree in person, fulfilling a lifelong dream. It truly was a magical time that I will never forget.

Iconic Christmas Must See Locations: A New York Christmas

The Rockefeller Center

The Rockefeller center is a must see, but be prepared for the overwhelming crowds. However, if you are willing to brave the masses, the sight of the iconic tree and ice rink is truly magical and worth the effort. Just make sure to go at night when all the lights are on for the best experience. If you decide to skate in make sure to buy tickets ahead of time as they do sell out! Prices range determined by the time of day you visit. Its very pricey, but a once in a lifetime thing.

Radio City

Another must-visit spot in New York City is the iconic Radio City Music Hall. This historic venue is not only a beautiful and grand building, but it also offers a variety of shows and performances for visitors to enjoy. From concerts and musicals to the famous Christmas Spectacular, there is something for everyone at Radio City Music Hall. Don’t forget to take a stroll around the area to admire the festive Christmas displays and decorations during the holiday season.

Department store Holiday Windows

Don’t forget to take a stroll down Fifth Avenue and enjoy all the Christmas displays, especially the holiday window displays. I had the pleasure of enjoying the last year of the Saks Fifth Avenue Holiday Show and it was truly mesmerizing! However, don’t worry, as they will still put on their fantastic window displays. So, grab a hot coffee and make sure not to skip this amazing experience.

Grand Central Terminal

All the sightseeing in the city involves a lot of walking . It can be tiring and exhausting, especially in the cold weather. That’s why I suggest taking a break at Grand Central Station. Not only is it a great place to warm up and escape the chilly temperatures, but there are also plenty of things to see and do there. From trying out different food options, browsing through unique shops, using the art print machines, and even using the public restrooms, Grand Central Station has something for everyone. And while you’re there, make sure to check out the holiday fair and the famous whispering gallery for some added holiday cheer.

Winter Village in Bryant Park

If you’re looking for a festive holiday activity with a wide variety of options, then Winter Village in Bryant Park is the place to go. With delicious food, handcrafted gifts, beautiful jewelry, and live music, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. However, be sure to plan your visit during the week to avoid the overwhelming crowds on weekends. This is the best market for A New York Christmas!

Little Italy and Chinatown

The festive atmosphere and holiday decorations make the experience even more enjoyable. From traditional Italian pastries to Chinese dim sum, the food in these neighborhoods is a must-try during the holiday season. Plus, the cultural diversity and history of these areas add a unique touch to the experience. So, don’t hesitate to brave the crowds and explore the wonders of little Italy and Chinatown during Christmas time. You won’t regret it.

Shine Bright at Hudson Yards

Hudson Yards offers a variety of shopping options and is the perfect place to find unique gifts for your loved ones during the holiday season. The Vessel, a unique architectural structure, is also located within Hudson Yards and is a must-see attraction. And if you happen to visit during the winter, you can enjoy the beautiful light installation that adds to the festive atmosphere. Don’t forget to also check out the start of the High Line, a popular elevated park that offers stunning views of the city.

The Edge

No trip to NYC is complete without taking in the incredible views from one of its many iconic rooftop locations. It’s also a great way to get a different perspective on the city, especially for those who have visited many times before. The Edge, in particular, offers a unique vantage point with its glass floor, adding an extra thrill to the already breathtaking views. Its my absolute favorite so far anytime of the day is the best time to go be sure to reserve your tickets in advance and take your time to soak up all the views!

The Oculus

The Oculus World Trade Center is another great attraction you’re sure to run-through if you’re taking the subway. The Oculus itself is a stunning architectural feat it features a variety of shops and restaurants. It also serves as a major transportation hub, connecting multiple subway lines. And with a public restroom conveniently located inside, it’s the perfect place to take a break and freshen up before continuing your journey through the city.

Central Park

Located in the heart of New York City, Central Park is a must-visit destination for tourists and locals alike. The park offers a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, with its serene atmosphere and picturesque views. Whether you’re visiting in the winter or any other time of the year, Central Park never fails to charm visitors with its romantic and timeless beauty. In addition to its scenic landscapes, the park also features iconic attractions such as the famous Wollman ice skating rink, which has been featured in numerous movies and TV shows.

From ice skating at Rockefeller Center to the magical holiday markets at Bryant Park, Manhattan is full of festive activities during the Christmas season. However, don’t limit yourself to just Manhattan – venture over to Brooklyn for even more attractions and stunning views of the city skyline. With countless Christmas lights, holiday shows, and delicious food, this city truly comes alive during the most wonderful time of the year to have A New York Christmas.
